Concept Design Lead, UX Designer, UX Researcher
At the Volkswagen Innovation Center California (ICC), we explore the future of mobility, considering all facets of the driving experience as we brainstorm and build out concepts. Throughout my time at the ICC, I have led concept design for an international automotive project, co-led user research efforts, and have been a consistent advocate for accessible and inclusive design in our concept vehicles.
Our projects span across disciplines, allowing for regular collaboration with engineers, developers, and car designers. Working in automotive often means considering experiences that go beyond a singular digital interface — how can we put safety first? How do we warn and alert drivers without startling them? How do we design for a family of four, during a moment when the kids are singing along to music in the backseat and the parents are trying to pay attention to the next turn? How do we design a multi-use interior, giving drivers a space where they can relax and unwind in solitude after a long day, or celebrate with friends on a post-graduation road trip? Above all, as a future-oriented innovation center, how do we design humble, thoughtful innovation projects where driver needs remain at the forefront?
Due to the nature of our work at the ICC, our projects are confidential. If you would like to learn more about my UX process and design work, please reach out.
